HAM MUKASA

Ham Mukasa became a Member of the British Empire in 1903, and later, one of the greatest statesmen Uganda has ever had. He served as a chief of kyaggwe county and carried the title of Ssekibobo of Buganda for over 30 years. After his retirement the title Ssekibobo still stuck on him.

Kyaggwe county is known as Mukono District today. Ham Mukasa wrote several books and scripts. They can be found at Makerere University Library and others through searching on google.com. The most popular and easily accessible online is " Uganda's Katikiiro visits England"

THE HAM MUKASA FOUNDATION.

Ham Mukasa Foundation was established in 1996 by the Late Mrs Rebecca Muliira ( first born in the second marriage), Mrs. Harriet Kawalya Kagwa (a grand daughter of Ham Mukasa), and the late James Hanington Kaweera Mukasa. Its aims and objective was to gather all the ancestors in The Ham Mukasa heritage, sympathizers and friends to know each other, keep the history, work together in events and any other ceremony it may be. It so happened that whenever someone was dead, a number of people could attend in hundreds and right after never to be seen until something happens again. We believe in meeting not only in sorrow but also in happiness. Now HMF wants to keep records and contacts to all persons for easy access and communication. This will enable the foundation to carry out administrational works, work on the development of Ham Mukasa Foundation and so on, with all the neccesary knowledge and contributions. The Ham Mukasa Foundation (HMF) has a get together family meeting every last week of the month at the late Ham Mukasa's home at Nasuti - Mukono at Kwata mpola house. All people are welcome and even scholars who of late have had a difficulty in getting the necessary information and contacts can now access the family through this website. Welcome.
